Hybrid physiotherapy program for children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia
Pediatric Early Rehabilitation in ACute Lymphoblastic LEukemia (PEACE): A Feasibility Study of a Hybrid Delivery Format
This study is testing a new mix of in-person and online physiotherapy for kids with acute lymphoblastic leukemia to see if they like it and if it helps them during their treatment.

What this trial studies
This study aims to assess the feasibility and acceptability of a hybrid physiotherapy program that combines in-person and virtual sessions for children diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Utilizing the Healthy Eating and Active Living (HEAL-ME) online platform, the program will involve a tailored 12-week intervention where children can choose their preferred mode of therapy delivery. The study will track participation rates, session completion, and resource utilization to evaluate the program's effectiveness and safety. A minimum of 10 children aged 4 to 17 years undergoing or having completed chemotherapy will be recruited for this quasi-experimental feasibility study.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are children aged 4 to 17 years diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia who are currently undergoing or have completed treatment.
Not a fit: Patients with neurodevelopmental or genetic disorders, or those with concurrent conditions that affect participation, may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could improve physical rehabilitation outcomes for children recovering from acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
How similar studies have performed: While similar hybrid approaches have been explored, this specific program's feasibility and acceptability in pediatric oncology is relatively novel.
