What this trial studies
This observational study follows men over 35 who play recreational football to link their training habits and general health to injury risk over a season. Participants complete regular questionnaires about training frequency, intensity, duration, sleep, nutrition, and medical history, and they report any injuries they sustain during play. They also attend periodic health assessments at the study site to capture objective measures and changes over time. Because the design is observational, the project will identify associations rather than prove cause-and-effect, which can help guide prevention strategies for veteran players.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are men age 35 and older who play recreational football and participate in a regular training program.
Not a fit: Players who do not follow a regular training program, professional athletes, or people younger than 35 are unlikely to benefit directly from the study findings.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the results could help create better training and health guidance to lower injury rates among veteran recreational football players.
How similar studies have performed: Previous research on training load and prevention programs like FIFA 11+ has reduced injuries in younger and mixed-age groups, but evidence focused specifically on veteran recreational players is limited.
