What this trial studies
Up to 30 pregnant women with a pre-pregnancy BMI ≥30 kg/m2 will use the Health Village digital pathway that delivers the Hope‑D gestational and postpartum weight management program for one week. After using the pathway participants complete the System Usability Scale and take part in semi-structured interviews via Microsoft Teams, which will be audio-recorded, transcribed, and analyzed qualitatively. Participants will report device type and give feedback on technical usability (login, navigation, links, visual design), content relevance and clarity, and on general and individual weight management plans. The study focuses on identifying usability issues and gathering user preferences to refine the digital pathway for gestational and six-month postpartum care.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Pregnant women with a pre-pregnancy BMI of at least 30 kg/m2 who can use the digital care pathway and electronic maternity card and can participate in Finnish-language remote interviews are ideal candidates.
Not a fit: People who cannot use smartphones or computers, who lack adequate Finnish language skills, or who do not meet the BMI eligibility are unlikely to benefit from this usability test.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the program could provide an easy-to-use digital tool and coaching pathway to help pregnant and postpartum women with obesity manage weight more effectively.
How similar studies have performed: Digital weight-management programs in pregnancy have shown mixed but sometimes promising results for engagement and modest weight outcomes, while this specific Hope‑D pathway is novel and undergoing initial usability testing.
