What this trial studies
This pilot study aims to adapt and deliver a home-based self-management intervention, originally designed for epilepsy, to individuals with Parkinson's Disease. Participants will engage in nine virtual sessions with a certified coach, focusing on improving their quality of life and cognitive function. They will complete questionnaires assessing their condition and maintain a daily diary of symptoms and self-management strategies. The study seeks to determine the feasibility of this adapted program and its potential benefits for those with Parkinson's Disease.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 30 to 75 with a diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease and self-reported cognitive or memory difficulties.
Not a fit: Patients with significant cognitive dysfunction that prevents informed consent or those lacking reliable telephone or internet access may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could enhance the quality of life and cognitive function for patients with Parkinson's Disease.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success with similar home-based self-management approaches for different conditions, suggesting potential for this adaptation.
