What this trial studies
This trial evaluates a new psychosocial intervention aimed at improving treatment adherence in Veterans who have both bipolar disorder and substance use disorders after being hospitalized. Participants will be randomly assigned to either receive the specialized intervention or an enhanced safety monitoring program, alongside their usual care. The effectiveness of these approaches will be assessed at multiple time points following discharge from the hospital, allowing for a comprehensive evaluation of outcomes.
