Genetic analysis of acne vulgaris in Indonesian patients
Profiles Analysis of Genome Wide Association Study (GWAS) in Acne Vulgaris in Indonesia
NA · Indonesia University · NCT06501560

What this trial studies
This study investigates the genetic profiles of patients with acne vulgaris by conducting a Genome Wide Association Study (GWAS) in Indonesia. It involves collecting blood samples from patients aged 17-21 and their parents to analyze genetic variants associated with acne. The research employs a cross-sectional design and includes demographic data collection, medical history, and clinical examinations. The samples will be processed in a specialized laboratory in Jakarta after being collected from multiple locations.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are males and females aged 17-21 with a diagnosis of acne vulgaris and their parents.
Not a fit: Patients with other inflammatory or infectious facial diseases, genetic disorders, or those currently on specific medications may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to a better understanding of the genetic factors contributing to acne vulgaris, potentially improving treatment options.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies utilizing GWAS have shown success in identifying genetic factors in various conditions, suggesting potential for this approach in acne vulgaris.
