What this trial studies
This observational study involves a 5-year follow-up of two cohorts of patients with chronic heart failure and metabolic comorbidities, initially recruited by the GANI_MED project. Participants will undergo comprehensive assessments using standardized protocols to evaluate their medical history, laboratory biomarkers, and various biosamples for bio-banking. The study employs a multi-omics approach, including genome-wide genotyping, transcriptome, metabolome, and proteome analyses, and will compare findings with the general population characterized by the Study of Health in Pomerania (SHIP).
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals who participated in the baseline examination of the GANI_MED cohorts focusing on heart failure and metabolic risk.
Not a fit: Patients who did not participate in the baseline examination of the GANI_MED cohorts will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of chronic heart failure and metabolic syndrome, leading to improved patient management and treatment strategies.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies utilizing multi-omics approaches in similar patient populations have shown promising results, indicating potential for success in this study.
