What this trial studies

This observational study aims to investigate the relationship between sleep quality and self-care behaviors in patients diagnosed with heart failure. It will longitudinally assess how these factors interact over a six-month period, with data collected at baseline, one month, three months, and six months through telephone follow-ups. The study will include a sample size of at least 207 participants from the Dokuz Eylül University Cardiology Outpatient Clinic, who meet specific inclusion criteria. Statistical analysis will be performed using SPSS to evaluate the data collected.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 and older who have been diagnosed with heart failure and can communicate via phone.

Not a fit: Patients who have been hospitalized recently, have serious comorbidities, or are using medications for insomnia may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance self-care strategies for heart failure patients by improving their sleep quality.

How similar studies have performed: While there is ongoing research into the relationship between sleep and self-care in chronic conditions, this specific approach focusing on heart failure is relatively novel.
