Examining the effects of sex chromosome abnormalities on health
Endocrine, Metabolic, Cardiovascular and Immunological Aspects of Sex Chromosome
This study is trying to see how health is affected by sex chromosome abnormalities, like Klinefelter and Turner syndromes, by comparing patients with these conditions to healthy individuals.

What this trial studies
This observational study involves 160 patients with sex chromosome abnormalities, such as Klinefelter and Turner syndromes, and 160 matched controls. Participants will undergo various assessments, including blood tests, imaging scans, and questionnaires, to analyze DNA, RNA, and methylation patterns. The goal is to understand how these genetic and epigenetic changes relate to the health phenotypes observed in individuals with sex chromosome abnormalities. By comparing these profiles with those of healthy controls, researchers aim to uncover the underlying mechanisms of associated diseases.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals diagnosed with sex chromosome abnormalities such as Klinefelter syndrome or Turner syndrome.
Not a fit: Patients without sex chromosome abnormalities or those with unrelated health conditions may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to better understanding and management of health issues related to sex chromosome abnormalities.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on sex chromosome abnormalities, this specific approach focusing on genotype and epigenetic changes is relatively novel.
