What this trial studies

This observational study investigates the influence of anxiety and impulsivity on anesthesiologists' choices regarding induction protocols for general anesthesia, particularly in uncertain situations. An online anonymous survey will be distributed to anesthesiologists in the Bourgogne Franche-Comté and Grand Est regions of France to assess their decision-making processes. The primary focus is to evaluate the impact of trait-anxiety on these decisions, while secondary objectives include characterizing decision-making profiles and measuring implications of anxiety on practice.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are anesthesiologists who have completed their PhD and are currently practicing in France.

Not a fit: Patients who are not anesthesiologists or those who are residents or retired anesthesiologists will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of how anxiety influences clinical decisions, potentially leading to improved patient safety and outcomes in anesthesia.

How similar studies have performed: This study explores a novel area of research, as the impact of anxiety on anesthesiologists' decision-making has not been previously studied.
