Evaluating ultrasound-guided tru-cut biopsy for suspected ovarian cancer
Ultrasound-guided Tru-cut Biopsy in Patients with Suspected Ovarian Cancer: Adequacy, Accuracy, Safety and Patient Assessment.

What this trial studies
This observational study aims to assess the effectiveness of ultrasound-guided tru-cut biopsy in patients suspected of having ovarian cancer. It will evaluate the adequacy and accuracy of biopsy samples for histopathological examination, as well as the safety of the procedure and patient experiences. Conducted by expert sonographers in a gynecological oncology center, the study will also include a patient questionnaire to gather feedback post-procedure. The findings will contribute to a prospective database for future research.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are patients with suspected advanced ovarian cancer who are indicated for tru-cut biopsy.
Not a fit: Patients who refuse to undergo tru-cut biopsy will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve the accuracy of ovarian cancer diagnoses and enhance patient management.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promise in using ultrasound-guided biopsies for similar purposes, but this specific approach is novel.
