Evaluating Pacing Dependency After Aortic Valve Replacement

Pacing Dependence at 1 Year Follow-up in Patients Implanted With a Pacemaker After TAVR: a Multicenter Observational Study.

University Hospital, Montpellier · NCT06756282

What this trial studies

This observational study focuses on patients who have undergone transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and subsequently received a permanent pacemaker. It aims to assess the prevalence of effective pacemaker stimulation one year after implantation, as well as three months post-procedure. The study will also analyze the types of conductive disorders associated with the need for pacing and the characteristics of patients who are or are not dependent on stimulation. The findings could provide insights into the long-term management of patients with high-grade conductive disorders following TAVR.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults over 18 who require a permanent pacemaker after undergoing TAVR.

Not a fit: Patients who already have a pacemaker prior to TAVR will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could help identify patients who may not need long-term pacing, potentially reducing unnecessary interventions.

How similar studies have performed: While some studies have explored pacing dependency post-TAVR, this specific focus on long-term outcomes is relatively novel.
