What this trial studies
This observational study aims to assess the safety and effectiveness of advanced guided bronchoscopy techniques for obtaining histological diagnoses of peripheral lung lesions suspected of being cancerous. Patients with such lesions will be recruited and undergo bronchoscopy procedures as part of their standard care, with the study focusing on analyzing the outcomes and characteristics of these procedures in a real-world setting. The study will track diagnostic yield, sensitivity, safety, and other factors over a follow-up period of up to one year.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults over 19 years old with peripheral lung lesions suspected of lung cancer who require a diagnostic biopsy.
Not a fit: Patients unable to provide informed consent or those with cognitive impairments may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the accuracy and safety of lung cancer diagnoses, leading to earlier and more effective treatment options for patients.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies utilizing guided bronchoscopy techniques have shown promising results, indicating potential for success in this approach.
