What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to assess the effectiveness of chest physiotherapy on the clinical outcomes of infants under 12 months diagnosed with bronchiolitis. The study involves two groups: one receiving routine hospital care and the other receiving chest physiotherapy administered by their mothers in addition to standard care. The trial will also evaluate whether an educational program enhances mothers' knowledge and practices regarding chest physiotherapy. Participants will be monitored for three days to determine the impact of the intervention.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include mothers of infants diagnosed with bronchiolitis who exhibit crackles upon auscultation.
Not a fit: Patients who have contraindications for chest physiotherapy or are intubated and admitted to the ICU may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve clinical outcomes for infants with bronchiolitis and empower mothers with effective care techniques.
How similar studies have performed: While the specific approach of this study may be novel, similar interventions in respiratory care have shown promise in improving patient outcomes.
