What this trial studies

This is a descriptive, cross-sectional observational study enrolling up to 500 patients with histologically and/or biologically confirmed prostate cancer who are followed at participating centers in Algeria. Data are collected from medical records and a structured ~30-minute patient interview and entered into a standardized electronic case report form to ensure completeness. The study records sociodemographic details, medical history, clinical and biological disease features, diagnostic tests performed, and therapeutic strategies used. All data are anonymized and used solely for research purposes to characterize current practice patterns and outcomes.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Men aged 19 years or older with histologically and/or biologically confirmed prostate cancer who are followed at the participating oncology or radiotherapy departments and can provide written informed consent.

Not a fit: Patients with non-carcinoma histological types, secondary tumors, or those currently enrolled in interventional trials are excluded and would not benefit from joining this observational project.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the study could clarify current diagnostic and treatment patterns and highlight gaps to improve care and health planning for prostate cancer in Algeria.

How similar studies have performed: Similar observational registries and cross-sectional studies in other countries have successfully described care patterns and outcomes and helped guide local improvements, so this approach is established rather than novel.
