What this trial studies
This study investigates the effectiveness of a mouthwash containing green tea and Salvadora persica L. extracts as an alternative to chlorhexidine for managing gingivitis. It aims to evaluate the mouthwash's ability to reduce dental plaque and gingival inflammation in patients with generalized gingivitis. Participants will be monitored for changes in bleeding sites and overall oral health over the course of the intervention. The study includes individuals aged over 15 who are systemically healthy and have not used certain medications recently.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals over 15 years old with generalized gingivitis and intact periodontium.
Not a fit: Patients with systemic chronic diseases, periodontitis, or those currently using mouthwash may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a safer and effective alternative mouthwash for patients suffering from gingivitis.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have explored herbal and natural alternatives for oral health, showing promising results, but this specific combination is relatively novel.
