What this trial studies

This study investigates how different weights of weighted blankets affect sleep quality in healthy adults with low sleep quality. Participants will be randomly assigned to use either their usual blanket or one of three weighted blankets (7 kg, 9 kg, or 14 kg) over four weeks. Sleep quality will be measured using portable EEG/EOG systems and temperature sensors in the participants' homes, ensuring a familiar sleeping environment. The aim is to determine the optimal weight of the blanket for improving sleep quality.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are healthy adults experiencing low sleep quality.

Not a fit: Patients with a history of mental illness, epilepsy, or any acute or chronic conditions that limit participation may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a non-pharmacological method to enhance sleep quality for individuals struggling with sleep problems.

How similar studies have performed: While weighted blankets have shown promise in improving sleep in specific populations, this study's focus on healthy adults with low sleep quality is relatively novel.
