What this trial studies

This study investigates the impact of a hospital-based intensive non-surgical treatment approach for musculoskeletal patients admitted to an integrated hospital that combines complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) with conventional medical treatments. Patients receive a tailored CAM treatment protocol, which includes herbal medicine, acupuncture, bee venom pharmacopuncture, and Chuna manipulation, alongside conventional care as necessary. The study aims to evaluate various outcome measures, including pain duration and intensity, disability indices, and range of motion, to assess the effectiveness of this integrated approach.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are hospitalized patients experiencing spine or joint diseases, specifically those with low back pain, neck pain, knee pain, or shoulder pain.

Not a fit: Patients with pain unrelated to spine, joint, or soft tissue issues, such as spinal tumors or pregnancy, may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a novel treatment option for patients suffering from chronic musculoskeletal pain.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results with integrated approaches combining CAM and conventional treatments for musculoskeletal conditions, suggesting potential for success in this study.
