What this trial studies
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a transdiagnostic cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) protocol designed for individuals with various anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and social anxiety disorder. The approach focuses on common underlying features of these disorders, such as distress intolerance and intolerance of uncertainty, rather than treating each disorder separately. The protocol will be implemented in a group therapy format, consisting of multiple sessions that include assessment, psychoeducation, and targeted interventions to address emotions and thoughts. The study will be conducted in Turkish and aims to strengthen the common features of anxiety disorders to improve treatment outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals diagnosed with at least one anxiety disorder, such as generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, or social anxiety disorder.
Not a fit: Patients with active substance use disorders, psychotic disorders, or those currently receiving psychotherapy may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could provide a more effective and unified treatment for individuals suffering from multiple anxiety disorders.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using transdiagnostic approaches for treating anxiety disorders, suggesting potential success for this unified protocol.
