What this trial studies
This study evaluates the effectiveness of sending educational text messages to individuals living with HIV to help reduce their cardiovascular risk. The intervention targets people aged 40 and older who are HIV positive and aims to provide them with vital information about managing their heart health. Participants will receive digital educational messaging designed to promote healthier lifestyle choices and awareness of cardiovascular health. The study is conducted by the University of California, San Francisco, in collaboration with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are English-speaking individuals aged 40 and older who are HIV positive.
Not a fit: Patients who are pregnant, have existing clinical atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, or do not own a smartphone may not benefit from this study.

Inclusion Criteria: * HIV positive * At least 40 years of age * English-speaking Exclusion Criteria: * Existing clinical atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) * Pregnant * Unwilling/unable to provide informed consent * Does not own a smartphone
