What this trial studies

This observational study aims to improve the detection of spinal cord lesions in patients with inflammatory diseases, particularly multiple sclerosis, by utilizing the MP2RAGE MRI sequence. The study focuses on the cervical segments of the spinal cord, where lesions are often small and difficult to visualize with standard MRI protocols. By implementing standardized acquisition protocols, the study seeks to enhance the sensitivity and specificity of spinal cord lesion detection, which is crucial for accurate diagnosis and management of multiple sclerosis. Participants will undergo MRI scans as part of their routine clinical assessment.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults over 18 years old who are scheduled for an MRI of the spinal cord due to inflammatory neuraxial disease.

Not a fit: Patients who are pregnant or have contraindications to MRI will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to more accurate diagnoses of multiple sclerosis, allowing for timely and appropriate treatment interventions.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results with advanced MRI techniques for detecting spinal cord lesions, indicating that this approach may be effective.
