Demographics of lung cancer in women at Mansoura University
Demographics of Lung Cancer in Female Patients: A Retrospective Based Analysis

What this trial studies
This is a retrospective observational review of female patients diagnosed with primary bronchogenic carcinoma at the Chest Diseases Department, Oncology Center, Mansoura University during the last ten years. Investigators will extract demographic variables, smoking history, secondhand smoke exposure, occupational and environmental risk factors, and clinical presentation from hospital records. Patients with lung metastases from other primary cancers are excluded. The team will use descriptive statistics and subgroup comparisons to summarize patterns and identify associations within this local cohort.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Female patients with documented primary bronchogenic carcinoma diagnosed and treated at the Chest Diseases Department/Oncology Center, Mansoura University within the past ten years are the intended participants.
Not a fit: Women with lung metastases from other primary cancers, patients without records at Mansoura University, or those diagnosed outside the 10-year window are not included and are unlikely to benefit from this dataset.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the project could clarify common risk patterns among women in this population and support targeted prevention or earlier detection efforts.
How similar studies have performed: Other regional and international demographic studies have identified distinct risk patterns in women—including sizable proportions of never-smokers—so this work builds on prior observational findings rather than testing a new therapy.
