What this trial studies

This observational study aims to establish and manage a multicenter national database for patients diagnosed with parathyroid carcinoma or atypical parathyroid adenoma across Italy. The study will involve 33 specialized clinical centers and will collect both retrospective and prospective data over a 10-year period. Information gathered will include clinical, genetic, diagnostic, and therapeutic data to enhance understanding and management of these rare conditions. The goal is to refine clinical guidelines and improve patient outcomes through comprehensive data analysis.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals diagnosed with parathyroid carcinoma or atypical parathyroid adenoma.

Not a fit: Patients with other types of parathyroid tumors or those not diagnosed with parathyroid carcinoma or atypical adenoma may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved clinical management and treatment guidelines for patients with parathyroid carcinoma and atypical adenoma.

How similar studies have performed: While studies on parathyroid tumors are limited due to their rarity, the establishment of multicenter databases has shown promise in other rare conditions, suggesting potential for success in this approach.
