What this trial studies

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of two irrigation systems, GentleWave and EdgePro, in disinfecting root canals of permanent teeth diagnosed with pulp necrosis. Participants will undergo nonsurgical root canal treatment, where the efficacy of these irrigation methods will be compared. The study will include patients who provide informed consent and meet specific inclusion criteria, while excluding those with certain dental conditions. The goal is to determine which irrigation system better reduces bacterial load in infected root canals.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals with permanent teeth diagnosed with pulp necrosis who are opting for nonsurgical root canal treatment.

Not a fit: Patients with root fractures, previously treated root canals, or vital pulps are unlikely to benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved outcomes in root canal treatments for patients with necrotic pulp.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results with similar irrigation techniques, suggesting potential for success in this approach.
