What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to compare the effectiveness of single-bundle anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction combined with anterolateral ligament (ALL) reconstruction versus double-bundle ACL reconstruction combined with ALL. Participants will undergo pre-operative evaluations including MRI imaging and motion analysis, followed by random assignment to one of the two surgical techniques. Post-operative follow-ups will assess knee stability, functional outcomes, and re-tear rates at 6 months and 1 year. The goal is to determine which surgical approach yields better results for patients with ACL injuries.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients aged 18 and older who are planning to undergo ACL surgery.
Not a fit: Patients with a history of injury to the affected leg or congenital abnormalities may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved surgical techniques that enhance knee stability and reduce re-tear rates for patients undergoing ACL reconstruction.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results with similar surgical techniques, indicating potential for success in this approach.
