What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to evaluate the effects of dry needling versus soft tissue mobilization on hamstring tightness and chronic low back pain. A total of 30 participants will be randomly assigned to two groups, with one group receiving dry needling and the other receiving soft tissue mobilization, alongside conventional therapy. The study will assess pain levels, range of motion, and overall functionality in patients suffering from chronic low back pain. The trial will be conducted at Hameed Latif Medical Centre using a non-probability convenient sampling technique.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals with chronic low back pain lasting at least 12 weeks and a Numeric Pain Rating scale score between 4 to 6.
Not a fit: Patients with needle phobia, cognitive impairments, or those with certain medical histories may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide effective treatment options for patients suffering from hamstring tightness and chronic low back pain.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results with similar interventions, suggesting potential effectiveness in treating hamstring tightness and associated pain.
