What this trial studies
This project focuses on the collection, archiving, and reuse of medical images such as MRI, CT, and ultrasound, along with demographic and clinical data for research purposes. Participants, including both healthy individuals and those with kidney or brain diseases, will provide consent to donate their medical images for future studies. The initiative is led by the Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research and aims to enhance research capabilities by creating a comprehensive repository of medical imaging data. Participants will also have access to a list of studies that utilize their donated data.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults aged 18 and older, both healthy individuals and those diagnosed with kidney or cerebral diseases.
Not a fit: Patients with a history of kidney or brain diseases who are not participating in the imaging collection may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this initiative could significantly advance research in kidney and brain diseases by providing valuable imaging data for future studies.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies utilizing similar approaches of medical image collection and data sharing have shown promise in advancing research, making this approach both relevant and potentially impactful.
