What this trial studies

This study evaluates the effectiveness of a cognitive rehabilitation program enhanced with virtual reality (VR) for older adults diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Participants will engage in a 12-week structured cognitive training program, attending sessions twice a week, with one group receiving additional immersive VR exercises at the end of each session. The study aims to measure improvements in cognitive performance, including attention, memory, and executive functioning, using standardized neuropsychological tests. Feedback on the VR experience will also be collected to assess usability and satisfaction.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 60 or older with a clinical diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment and the ability to participate in computer-based tasks.

Not a fit: Patients with a diagnosis of dementia or severe psychiatric conditions may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could enhance cognitive performance and engagement in older adults with mild cognitive impairment.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promise in using virtual reality for cognitive rehabilitation, indicating potential for success in this approach.
