What this trial studies
Researchers will partner with college students and other stakeholders to co-design brief video messages about HPV vaccination tailored to young adults. The pilot will deliver these videos alongside CDC fact sheets to English-speaking, unvaccinated students at Michigan State University and collect data on acceptability, vaccination intent, and short-term vaccine initiation. Interventions include brief informational and motivational videos delivered digitally with follow-up reminders, and outcomes will compare pre- and post-intervention self-reports and vaccination records when available. Results will be used to refine low-cost, scalable approaches aimed at reducing HPV-related health disparities in young adults.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are English-speaking college students aged 18–26 who have never received any HPV vaccine doses.
Not a fit: Students who have already received HPV vaccination, are outside the 18–26 age range, or cannot understand English are unlikely to benefit from this intervention.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the videos could raise HPV vaccination rates among college students using a low-cost, scalable approach.
How similar studies have performed: Previous educational and digital interventions have shown modest success in improving HPV vaccine uptake in adolescents, but video-based, co-designed interventions focused on college students remain relatively novel.
Eligibility criteria
