What this trial studies

This observational cohort will enroll people in China diagnosed with occupational pneumoconiosis and gather demographic, occupational, and clinical data. Investigators will document disease stage, symptoms, comorbidities, and outcomes over time to describe the natural history and prognosis. Data will be collected at participating centers led by China-Japan Friendship Hospital and its regional collaborators using standardized clinical records and patient histories. Exclusion criteria include incomplete occupational history or prior participation in interventional research.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: People diagnosed with pneumoconiosis in China who can provide a complete occupational history and have not participated in interventional clinical research.

Not a fit: People without a confirmed pneumoconiosis diagnosis, those unable to provide a full occupational history, or those who previously joined interventional trials may not benefit from this observational cohort.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the study could improve understanding of how pneumoconiosis progresses and which complications or comorbidities most affect patients, helping guide prevention and care.

How similar studies have performed: Similar observational cohorts of occupational lung disease have produced useful natural-history and risk-factor data, so the approach is established rather than novel.
