What this trial studies
This observational study aims to gather insights into the needs of informal caregivers who support individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts, have attempted suicide, or have died by suicide. Participants will complete an online questionnaire designed to explore their experiences and the challenges they face as caregivers. The findings will help identify gaps in support and inform the development of initiatives and tools to better assist these caregivers.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals aged 16 and older who have cared for someone with suicidal thoughts or behaviors in the past three years.
Not a fit: Patients who have not been involved with someone experiencing suicidal thoughts or behaviors may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved support systems and resources for caregivers of individuals with suicidal thoughts.
How similar studies have performed: While there may be studies focusing on caregiver needs, this specific approach to assessing the needs of caregivers for individuals with suicidal thoughts is relatively novel.
