What this trial studies

This observational study aims to evaluate how sleep quality affects patients with chronic ocular diseases such as macular degeneration and glaucoma. Participants will complete three standardized questionnaires: the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, the Berlin Questionnaire, and the Epworth Sleepiness Scale. The responses will be digitized for statistical analysis to draw conclusions about the relationship between sleep quality and eye health. The study focuses on both patients with specific eye conditions and healthy volunteers to provide a comprehensive understanding of the issue.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients diagnosed with macular degeneration or glaucoma, as well as healthy volunteers.

Not a fit: Patients with other ocular disorders may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved management strategies for patients with chronic ocular diseases by addressing sleep quality.

How similar studies have performed: While the specific relationship between sleep quality and chronic ocular diseases is less explored, similar studies have shown that sleep quality can significantly impact overall health outcomes.
