Assessing normal cardiac values using MRI in healthy adults
A Multicenter Investigation of Cardiac Normal Values of Morphology, Function and Tissue Characteristics by Magnetic Resonance Imaging
This study is trying to find out what healthy hearts look like in Chinese adults by using MRI to create a guide for doctors to better understand heart health.

What this trial studies
This observational study enrolls healthy volunteers to establish age and sex-specific reference values for normal cardiac structure and function in Chinese adults. Utilizing cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) techniques, including steady-state free precession (SSFP) and novel methods for myocardial strain and tissue characterization, the study aims to create a comprehensive database of normal cardiac parameters. This database will serve as a crucial reference for diagnosing and evaluating cardiovascular diseases, particularly in the Chinese population, where such standards are currently lacking.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are healthy adults without any cardiovascular disease or related risk factors.
Not a fit: Patients with existing cardiovascular diseases or serious non-cardiovascular conditions will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide essential reference values that improve the diagnosis and management of cardiovascular diseases in the Chinese population.
How similar studies have performed: While there are existing reference standards for normal cardiac values globally, this study is novel in its focus on a large sample of the Chinese population and the inclusion of advanced CMR parameters.
