What this trial studies

This clinical trial examines the impact of Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment on older patients with solid cancers who are considered frail. Participants aged 70 and above, screened for frailty using the Geriatric 8 tool, will be randomly assigned to receive either the geriatric assessment and intervention or standard oncologic treatment. The study aims to evaluate how this additional assessment influences patient outcomes and prognosis over a 12-month period. A multidisciplinary team will conduct the assessments and follow-ups to ensure comprehensive care.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are cancer patients aged 70 or older, living in Southern Denmark, and identified as frail.

Not a fit: Patients who are unable to speak or understand Danish or those already receiving treatment for other cancers may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could improve treatment outcomes and quality of life for older cancer patients by addressing their unique health needs.
