What this trial studies
This observational study evaluates the effectiveness of high-quality 3D laparoscopic systems in performing adrenalectomies for patients with adrenal tumors. It aims to address the limitations of conventional 2D laparoscopy, such as poor depth perception and spatial orientation, which can lead to surgical errors and increased operative time. By analyzing outcomes from patients who underwent unilateral 3D laparoscopic adrenalectomy, the study seeks to determine if this advanced technology improves surgical precision and patient safety. The study will include data from surgeries performed between January 2013 and December 2033.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults aged 18 and older diagnosed with adrenal masses who are scheduled for unilateral 3D laparoscopic adrenalectomy.
Not a fit: Patients requiring emergency surgery, open adrenalectomy, or bilateral adrenalectomies will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could lead to improved surgical outcomes and reduced complications for patients undergoing adrenalectomy.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results for 3D laparoscopy in various surgical procedures, but its specific application in adrenalectomies remains less explored.
