What this trial studies
This study focuses on the diagnosis and correction of dentofacial deformities using a full 3D computer-assisted workflow. It involves the integration of advanced imaging techniques and surgical planning to improve outcomes for patients undergoing orthognathic surgery. The approach aims to enhance the precision of surgical interventions by utilizing technologies such as multislice CT, cone beam CT, and CAD-CAM. Patients with significant skeletal discrepancies that cannot be resolved through orthodontics alone will be evaluated for this innovative treatment method.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 to 60 with dentoskeletal dysmorphia who are scheduled for orthognathic surgery.
Not a fit: Patients who have previously undergone facial surgeries during the treatment period may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve the functional and aesthetic outcomes for patients with dentofacial deformities.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies utilizing advanced imaging and surgical planning techniques have shown promising results, indicating that this approach is supported by prior successful methodologies.
