What this trial studies
This study investigates a set of biomedical sensors designed for remote health monitoring, focusing on heart and pulmonary conditions. The sensors, which have received FDA approval, will record various health metrics such as ECG, heart sounds, and respiration rates. Data collected from these sensors will be transmitted wirelessly to a computer for analysis. The study aims to evaluate the quality of recordings from these innovative wearable devices compared to conventional systems.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include healthy individuals, those with prehypertension or hypertension, and patients undergoing dialysis.
Not a fit: Patients who are pregnant or have implantable cardiac devices or arrhythmias may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this technology could provide continuous and accurate health monitoring for patients with chronic conditions, potentially improving management and outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using wearable technology for health monitoring, indicating a growing field of research with potential benefits.
