What this trial studies

This study aims to translate the Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP) questionnaire into Arabic and validate its effectiveness for assessing oral health-related quality of life among elderly Arabic-speaking populations. The research will involve 254 participants who have removable prostheses, asking them to complete the translated questionnaire to ensure its cultural relevance and accuracy. The study addresses the need for culturally appropriate tools in oral health assessments, particularly in regions where Arabic is the primary language.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are native Arabic patients who have had a removable partial denture within the last year.

Not a fit: Patients who are not familiar with the Arabic language or have mental or perception problems may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a validated tool for better understanding and improving oral health quality of life in Arabic-speaking populations.

How similar studies have performed: While the translation and validation of health questionnaires is a common practice, this specific adaptation for Arabic-speaking populations is relatively novel.
