What this trial studies
This observational study aims to validate a French version of the pediatric quality of life scale specifically for children suffering from eosinophilic esophagitis. Conducted at the Nice University Pediatric Hospital, the study will involve translating the existing questionnaire into French and collecting responses from affected children. The goal is to ensure that the quality of life of these patients can be accurately assessed in a language that is accessible to them and their families. This validation is crucial as it addresses a significant gap in the evaluation tools available for this condition in the French-speaking population.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are children aged 2 to 17 years who are diagnosed with eosinophilic esophagitis and are receiving care at the Nice-Lenval University Hospital.
Not a fit: Patients with intellectual disabilities or cognitive impairments that prevent them from completing the questionnaire will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a validated tool to better assess and improve the quality of life for children with eosinophilic esophagitis.
How similar studies have performed: While this specific approach is novel in the French context, similar studies have successfully validated quality of life questionnaires for other pediatric conditions.
