What this trial studies

OncoBRAIN evaluates the impact of an immersive virtual reality intervention designed to enhance cognitive function, emotional well-being, and quality of life in individuals diagnosed with cancer and experiencing chemotherapy-related cognitive deficits. Participants will engage in cognitive, physical activity, and mindfulness exercises through virtual reality. The study aims to compare the cognitive performance and emotional state of those receiving the intervention against a control group not receiving it. The hypothesis is that the experimental group will show significant improvements in cognitive abilities such as memory and attention, as well as overall quality of life.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 to 65 who have been diagnosed with cancer and have experienced cognitive complaints following chemotherapy.

Not a fit: Patients currently undergoing chemotherapy or those with pre-existing psychiatric or neurological disorders may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly enhance cognitive function and emotional well-being in cancer patients suffering from cognitive deficits.

How similar studies have performed: While immersive virtual reality is a novel approach in this context, similar interventions have shown promise in improving cognitive function in other populations.
