What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation on recovery in amateur athletes. It aims to enhance the recovery process after high-intensity training by regulating the nervous system noninvasively. The study will measure various physiological parameters such as pulse, blood pressure, perceived fatigue, and respiratory function to assess the impact of the stimulation. The goal is to provide insights into how this technique can improve athletic performance and recovery.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are healthy amateur football players aged 18-25 who are actively participating in sports.
Not a fit: Patients with respiratory or cardiac diseases, chronic illnesses, or those on related medications may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly enhance recovery times and performance for athletes.
How similar studies have performed: There is limited existing research on the use of transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation in athletes, making this study a novel investigation.
