What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to compare the effectiveness of the Spotlight AQ survey platform against the standard pre-clinic assessment for adolescents and young adults aged 16-25 with Type 1 Diabetes. Participants will complete the Spotlight AQ survey prior to two standard clinic visits, and their A1c levels will be monitored to assess any changes. Additionally, feedback will be gathered from both patients and healthcare providers regarding their experiences with the Spotlight AQ survey. The study seeks to determine if this new approach can improve diabetes management and patient satisfaction.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adolescents and young adults aged 16-25 who have been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes for at least six months and are using a Continuous Glucose Monitor.
Not a fit: Patients outside the age range of 16-25 or those with mental illnesses that impair their ability to participate may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved diabetes management and better health outcomes for young adults with Type 1 Diabetes.
How similar studies have performed: While the specific approach of using the Spotlight AQ platform is novel, similar studies have shown that innovative assessment tools can enhance diabetes management.
