What this trial studies
The IMPACT project aims to establish a data-sharing infrastructure among expert centers for pancreatic surgery to enhance the quality of care for patients with pancreatic cancer. This observational study will collect pseudonymized clinical and imaging data from patients who have undergone diagnostic procedures and treatments for pancreatic lesions. The data will be utilized to train and validate artificial intelligence tools that can potentially improve patient outcomes. A project steering committee will oversee the management and sharing of the collected data among participating centers.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults aged 18 and older who have received diagnostic procedures or treatment for pancreatic lesions.
Not a fit: Patients who object to the use of their data for scientific research will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this project could lead to improved diagnostic and treatment strategies for pancreatic cancer patients.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies utilizing data-sharing and artificial intelligence in oncology have shown promising results, indicating potential for success in this approach.
