What this trial studies
This study investigates the effectiveness of pricking therapy combined with wheat grain moxibustion on patients diagnosed with malignant tumors characterized by spleen deficiency and dampness obstruction. The approach focuses on applying these therapies to specific acupuncture points known as back shu points. The study aims to evaluate not only the clinical outcomes but also the immune and inflammatory responses associated with these treatments. Participants will be closely monitored to assess the overall efficacy of this combined therapeutic strategy.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients diagnosed with malignant tumors who also exhibit symptoms of spleen deficiency and dampness obstruction.
Not a fit: Patients who are unable to lie prone for extended periods, pregnant, or lactating may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this treatment could provide a novel approach to managing cancer symptoms and improving patient quality of life.
How similar studies have performed: While this specific combination of therapies is novel, similar approaches in traditional Chinese medicine have shown promise in managing cancer symptoms.
