Using PNF technique to treat chronic low back pain
Effects of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation of Iliopsoas and Hamstring on Patients With Chronic Low Back Pain
This study is testing if a special stretching technique can help people with chronic low back pain feel better and move more easily, especially those who sit a lot.

What this trial studies
This study evaluates the effectiveness of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) techniques in reducing chronic low back pain (CLBP) and improving flexibility in the iliopsoas and hamstring muscles. It focuses on patients with a history of prolonged sitting, which contributes to muscle tightness and CLBP. The study aims to determine if targeting these specific muscles can alleviate pain and enhance range of motion. Participants will receive PNF treatment alongside conventional therapy to assess overall improvements in their condition.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals suffering from chronic non-specific low back pain for more than three months with specific muscle tightness.
Not a fit: Patients with a history of significant spinal or hip surgery, fractures, or other serious medical conditions may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly reduce chronic low back pain and improve the quality of life for affected patients.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown positive outcomes using similar PNF techniques for muscle tightness and pain management, indicating potential for success in this approach.
