What this trial studies
This clinical trial evaluates the effectiveness of removable partial dentures made from polyetheretherketone (PEEK) in patients with tooth loss. A total of 25 patients at two centers will receive these dentures and will be monitored over a three-year period for any technical or biological complications. Additionally, participants will be surveyed regarding their oral health-related quality of life to assess the impact of the dentures on their daily lives.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults who require a clasp-anchored removable partial denture due to tooth loss.
Not a fit: Patients who are minors, pregnant, breastfeeding, or have severe general illnesses or allergies to the materials used will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve the quality of life for patients with tooth loss by providing a more effective and comfortable denture option.
How similar studies have performed: While the use of PEEK in dental applications is gaining interest, this specific approach to removable partial dentures is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested in prior studies.
