What this trial studies

This clinical trial investigates the effects of music therapy on anxiety and vasospasm in patients undergoing transradial angiography. It is a prospective, two-arm, randomized controlled trial conducted at Mersin University Faculty of Medicine Hospital's Cardiology Clinic. Patients scheduled for their first coronary angiography will be randomly assigned to either a music intervention group or a control group. The study aims to assess whether listening to music can improve patient comfort and reduce complications during the procedure.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older who are undergoing their first coronary angiography for non-acute reasons and can understand Turkish.

Not a fit: Patients with acute coronary syndrome, previous angiography experience, or any mental health disorders may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could enhance patient comfort and reduce anxiety during invasive heart procedures.

How similar studies have performed: While the use of music therapy in medical settings has shown promise in reducing anxiety, this specific application in transradial angiography is relatively novel.
