What this trial studies

This observational study aims to recruit 50 patients with recurrent or metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma to explore how multi-omics techniques can predict the effectiveness of a treatment regimen that combines chemoradiotherapy with immunotherapy. The study will analyze various biological data to identify potential biomarkers that correlate with treatment response. By understanding these predictive values, the research seeks to enhance personalized treatment strategies for patients suffering from this aggressive cancer.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 to 70 with recurrent or metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma and an ECOG performance status of 0 to 1.

Not a fit: Patients with other malignant tumors, severe complications, or those who are pregnant or lactating may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to more effective and tailored treatment options for patients with recurrent and metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

How similar studies have performed: While the use of multi-omics in cancer treatment prediction is an emerging field, similar studies have shown promise in other cancer types, indicating potential for success in this approach.
