What this trial studies

This observational study evaluates the use of magnesium injections as an alternative to steroid injections for managing chronic pain. It focuses on patients who have previously undergone interventional injection therapy and collects data on pain and sleep quality post-injection. Pain is assessed using a numeric rating scale, while sleep quality is measured with a Likert scale. The study aims to determine if magnesium can effectively reduce pain and improve sleep without the immunosuppressive side effects associated with steroids.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adult chronic pain patients who have previously received interventional injection therapy and can comply with treatment and diary requirements.

Not a fit: Patients with organ insufficiency, cognitive disorders, or those who have had adverse reactions to magnesium may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could provide a safer pain management option for patients by reducing the risk of infections associated with steroid use.

How similar studies have performed: While the use of magnesium in this context is less common, similar studies exploring alternative pain management strategies have shown promising results.
