What this trial studies
This study explores the use of hypnosis as a therapeutic tool to help patients with hematologic cancers, specifically diffuse large cell B-cell lymphoma and follicular lymphoma, manage anxiety related to their diagnosis and treatment. Patients over 18 years old who are fluent in French and have a specific anxiety score will be referred for hypnotherapy. The effectiveness of hypnosis in reducing anxiety over time will be measured using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS). This approach aims to enhance the quality of life for patients undergoing treatment for these cancers.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults over 18 years old with a recent diagnosis of diffuse large cell B-cell lymphoma or follicular lymphoma and elevated anxiety levels.
Not a fit: Patients who are not fluent in French or those with legal restrictions may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly reduce anxiety levels in patients with hematologic cancers, improving their overall quality of life during treatment.
How similar studies have performed: While hypnosis has shown effectiveness in improving quality of life in breast cancer patients, this specific application in hematologic cancers is novel and has not been extensively studied.
